Ads

Here are my advertisements! I still have to make a few changes and perfect the design before submitting it in my portfolio.

  1. Hey Katie! The illustrations are nice and playful for your ads. My concern is the illustration and the photography. There's no an interaction between them.

Here are some examples I'm referring to:

These examples show interaction between the illustrations and the photography. They're engaging with one another in order to visually communicate the concept.

Another area of concern is consistency: If you have the type and the logo placed in a specific area for the first ad, try to do the same thing with the second ad. With that said, determine where you want to place your logo (either the left or right corner), as well as placing the copy (top or bottom). That way there's a consistent flow between the two.

I believe if you tackle these areas, your ads will be stronger. :) Have a great weekend Katie!

  2. Thanks for the comments. Do you think I have to put the logo and text in the same exact place?

I don't want them to look like the exact same ad just different pictures....

  3. You want to have the logo and the copy to be in the same place to show consistency. If you were to look at some of my ads, or my other classmates' ads, the imagery might have been different...but the placement for the copy and the text did not move.

It's like a car: The steering wheel is on the left (for American standards), with the pedals right under it. Maybe a different color, and different interior for the model...but the brand is the same. You'll see the logo placed in the front and in the back, located in the same place. :)

Again, from what I got out of my class' critiques, consistency is crucial for the ads. :) Keep working hard Katie! :)
